Master th. on SLAM With Radio Signals and Intelligent Reflective Surfaces
Intelligent reflective surfaces (IRSs) are metamaterial structures that can reflect radio signals in desired directions according to their configuration.
Moving the direction of reflection, the environment can be scanned to localize transmitting users and map objects.
Starting from the signals sensed with an IRSs (basically providing an image of the environment), we aim at learning how to identify reflectors and transmitters and possibly tracking multiple moving users.
Localization of transmitters and mapping of objects is the Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) problem.
