The tech world has recently started to unlock the benefits behind combining AR/VR with AI. Pairing the two has the power to drive  technical innovation, improving user experiences, and defining new ways of interacting with our world.

This thesis work is focused on designing new deep learning optimization and representation strategies for immersive technologies like AR/VR. More specifically, the  research work concentrates on designing new compression/rendering/visualization strategies for 3D models (like point clouds) that maximize the user experience at a reasonable computational cost (e.g., file compression, LOD definition, data optimization).
