We are seeking a highly motivated and talented PhD candidate to join our team in developing advanced machine learning techniques for semiconductor manufacturing. The successful candidate will work on developing algorithms and models that enable predictive maintenance, yield optimization, process control, and defect detection for semiconductor fabrication processes. The candidate will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge equipment and collaborate with experts in the field of semiconductor manufacturing. Moreover, he/she will be involved in an EU project with 53 partners from 12 countries. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in machine learning, computer science, or a related field, with experience in data analysis, programming, and statistical modeling. Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing processes is a plus, but not required. This is a fully funded PhD position in collaboration with LFoundry, one of the leading producers worldwide of electronics for image sensors.

Competences: During the PhD you will master Machine Learning approaches, with focus on Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI), Deep Learning and Computer Vision.
